Three Most Essential Gadgets to Include in a Tactical Vest
There are numerous gadgets that you can load up on a tactical vest. However, when loading up your tactical vest, it’s best to avoid putting anything on top of your shoulders. In doing so, you’ll be able to deflect attacks from the opposing team’s weaker side. The following are essential equipment that you must include in your tactical vest.
- Toggle Button Radio System: Communication is essential to succeed in a tactical situation. The need for a radio’s push-to-talk (PTT) button becomes clear in this context. You can talk to your team without putting down your weapon, thanks to this vest-mounted device. This communication device is often stored in the upper chest area of most tactical vests, close to the shoulder. You can maintain one hand on your weapon while easily pressing the button. Some PTT buttons, however, have a wrist strap. If you have trouble zipping your vest, this is a good alternative.
- Flashbang Wallet: A flashbang, or flash grenade, produces both a visible flash and an audible sound but does not harm it. You can use it to throw off your opponent’s sense of direction and gain the upper hand tactically. Flashbangs should be easily accessible in every high-quality tactical vest. This grenade is typically stored in a dedicated pocket on most vests. Other non-lethal grenades, such as pepper spray and tear gas, can be carried in similar pouches. Make sure the pouch has a cover or flap to keep the grenade safe and that it is easy to access. In a stressful scenario, you don’t want to rummage around in your vest looking for it.
- First Aid Kit: Situations can rapidly deteriorate during a tactical encounter. For this reason, a first aid kit should always be carried on your vest. Various first aid supplies for dealing with cuts and scrapes should be included in this bag. Bandages, gauze, tape, and other wound care supplies should all be included. A pair of gloves to prevent infection from the medical attendant’s bare hands should also be included. The fact that you’re carrying your first aid kit on your back means it won’t be in the way while you’re on the move and will free up room in your vest. In addition, you can’t get to it because it’s not an individual first-aid kit but rather one for distribution by team members in the event of an emergency.
Remember, never mount anything on your tactical vest in a way that prevents you from easily shouldering weapons.
