Bomb suits are distinctive body armors that are designed to withstand the intense pressure generated by bomb blasts. Furthermore, it protects the wearer from any fragments that may be left behind after the explosion. Bomb blast suits are often heavy due to the purpose for which they are worn and can also be referred to as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) suits or blast suits.

A bomb suit covers more of the body than a regular bulletproof vest. The protective vest protects the torso and head while protecting the attacker from incoming bullets. Many materials are used to achieve the highest level of protection by bomb suit manufacturers. The bomb suits are usually made of layers of Kevlar, foam, and plastic. For maximum protection, gloves and wrist guards are included. However, this can also impede the wearer’s mobility and responsiveness, even though it offers great protection. There are bulletproof vests that offer better protection than bomb suits. However, there are not many bulletproof vests dedicated to protecting wearers from bomb blasts.
